Almost Brothers Podcast

Change Is Inevitable: Will You Sink or Swim?

Michael Simmons, Richard Randl, Tyler Wilkerson

Send us a text

After three years and three months of trying for a baby, Tyler and Liv finally have exciting news to share! The Almost Brothers crew gathers for an emotional announcement that sparks a profound conversation about life's biggest transitions and how we face them.

When Tyler called for an impromptu family meeting, everyone feared the worst—but what awaited them was a celebration years in the making. Through tears, laughter, and genuine vulnerability, the group explores what it truly means to navigate uncharted waters. As Liv reflects on seeing those positive pregnancy tests, she admits, "It's something you think you can prepare for, but it's not at all like that." Her candid confession resonates with anyone who's ever faced a significant life change.

The conversation naturally expands to everyone's experiences with major transitions—from Richard and Jennifer fostering numerous children over the years to Michael and Jamie's temporary move away from the family. What emerges is a beautiful testament to how family bonds help us weather storms and celebrate triumphs. As the group notes, even when we're unprepared for change, having people who show up makes all the difference.

Between heartfelt reflections and typical Almost Brothers banter (including an ongoing joke about manslaughter that takes on a life of its own), this episode reminds us that while change itself is inevitable, we get to choose who we navigate it with. Join this authentic conversation about family, fear, excitement, and everything in between—and perhaps reflect on your own support system along the way.

Speaker 1:

Speaker 5:

I think you made that up.

Speaker 4:

He's trying to make it funny and it's not funny.

Speaker 2:

What who me?

Speaker 6:

What do you mean?

Speaker 2:

Don't believe everything he says I literally asked what do you mean on the rise?

Speaker 4:

I thought you were saying like on their eyes, like you were trying to make it funny no, I wouldn't.

Speaker 2:

I wanted to know. I wanted to know what he meant by they're on the rise. Well, like plotting against us or something.

Speaker 1:

Haven't y'all ever seen sharknado?

Speaker 5:

It's a true, that's based on a true story, ian Ziering's greatest hits.

Speaker 1:

Writing it down.

Speaker 3:

No.

Speaker 5:

Like he can write. That's so funny.

Speaker 1:

Man, what's up, what's up, what's up's up, what's up, what's up, what's up, what's up. Everybody, welcome back to a brand new episode of the almost brothers podcast. On today's episode, we are going to be talking about uncharted waters. Change, everybody's favorite word sharks no sharks, don't? Well, I mean, we could talk about sharks and how I'm a shark attack survivor. You are not. Oh my gosh, I know my truth. I did. I punched him in the face and he took off.

Speaker 5:

Oh, gosh, you're in church. You should not lie.

Speaker 1:

Haters man, have you been attacked by a shark?

Speaker 2:

No, I don't know where sharks are. Not only is he in church, he's the pastor of the church we're in.

Speaker 5:

I don't go where sharks hang out. We're not buddies. I'm not going to do it.

Speaker 1:

This shark came to me. It did not.

Speaker 6:

No, it didn't. Yes, it did. No, it didn.

Speaker 1:

So anyway, as you can hear, we have Richard, as always. How's it going?

Speaker 5:

What's up? How are you doing? It's a good day, man.

Speaker 1:

It is a good day. You're right, Ty Ty. How are you doing today, Hi man? A few words. And also we have the Almost Sisters on with us today. Jen Bunny, how are you doing? I'm good, what's up, what's up.

Speaker 3:

She knows how much she's about to fall asleep.

Speaker 5:

She's a bear cat survivor. Oh, bear cat attack survivor. And that's just as true as your story. You see what?

Speaker 4:

he's trying to say that was a close one. All right, it was close.

Speaker 3:

It was between her and my spatula you had that spatula.

Speaker 5:

It had been all over. She didn't have that spatula.

Speaker 1:

It should be a goner yeah.

Speaker 4:

That funny. Oh and live. How are you doing good? Good, yeah, you've been attacked by any crazy animals.

Speaker 1:

I've been chased by a goose. How afraid, yeah, how afraid were you I was terrified for my life our stories are true too. Five yeah I was also five so ours are true, too okay that sounds scary not as geese are hey they're.

Speaker 4:

They are so aggressive? Yeah, they have little teeth. Did you know that? No, but that they have little teeth on there, oh, that's terrifying.

Speaker 1:

You know how scary ostriches are.

Speaker 5:

They are terrifying creatures.

Speaker 1:

I don't, yeah, yeah. They look dangerous and they are they just look, uh like man? Yeah, not good. Yeah, james, how are you doing?

Speaker 6:

hey, the the best co-host you mean my number one favorite co-host I can't believe.

Speaker 1:

She just said that to my face I've been waiting behind the scenes fight.

Speaker 5:

speaking of your truth, that's what I'm talking about.

Speaker 1:

You're my favorite. That's true.

Speaker 5:

That doesn't make you the favorite, but it makes you his favorite.

Speaker 6:

I am, I'm the favorite.

Speaker 1:

I wonder we need to do a poll.

Speaker 5:

Who's the favorite? Do it online. Comment on the show.

Speaker 1:

Comment and let us know who's your favorite. But yeah, we're going to be talking about change.

Speaker 5:

Change Comment and let us know who's your favorite, but yeah, we're going to be talking about change, change.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, because there's something that we're specifically wanting to talk about. This episode we're really, really excited about.

Speaker 2:

Surprise yes.

Speaker 1:

Surprise. Yes, it was a big surprise. I was a little scared I'm not going to lie when it all went down the way they did it. I was like either this is really good or really really bad. One or the other.

Speaker 6:

You need to name this episode Breaking News.

Speaker 3:

I don't know why I did it, that's why she's not the best co-host she takes over.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 2:

The title changed right in the middle of the episode.

Speaker 6:

I just get these ideas and they just pop up and I have to say them.

Speaker 5:

We talked last episode about you not having the brain mouth filter. Apparently it's a simmons thing right.

Speaker 1:

What do you think I?

Speaker 6:

learned it from after 19 years golly man.

Speaker 1:

So what is going on in y'all's lives? We're gonna start with the randall family.

Speaker 5:

Oh, let's don't, can we not? Oh, okay I'll start on the dog we, uh, we did lose and find our dog last night oh, okay, that's just a day.

Speaker 6:

That was one day in the randall that's just a day, yeah no, she had a night out on the town.

Speaker 4:

She sure did.

Speaker 5:

She got a little bit no bella a little bit, a little bit she gets out and goes to the front door. That's as far as she's going yeah, she's like hey.

Speaker 1:

I'm out here, hey, I'm out here, hey guys, hey y'all.

Speaker 2:

I'm right here. Y'all must have forgotten about me, yeah.

Speaker 5:

But no, she got out last night and we were worried and then she found her this morning morning. There you go, nice, I know zane.

Speaker 1:

Zane killed it at the lego set.

Speaker 2:

He did really good oh my god I'm really excited you got me worried there for a second because you're like zane killed it.

Speaker 1:

Oh the dog, what he, what hold?

Speaker 2:

on, we got it back this morning. Zane killed it.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, man, that's messed up.

Speaker 2:

I'll be getting out again, off to the taxidermist.

Speaker 1:

Right. So shout out to the Randall family and doing Lego sets for me.

Speaker 5:

I appreciate that. Yeah, he's quite the little Lego genius. He's a prodigy.

Speaker 1:

He did it in like an hour and a half. Yeah, that's crazy. There it is, and that was like a thousand pieces, something like that.

Speaker 5:

And if you give him a Rubik's Cube, nah.

Speaker 1:

Not doing it.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, we were driving home from church and he got it at church and he kept saying I got this side done.

Speaker 1:

I was like that's not the point, you ain't even barely going.

Speaker 6:

I seen him messing with it. I said, can you figure that out?

Speaker 2:

He was just like I'm trying so fun fact, there's algorithms with Rubik's cubes, If you didn't know that. So you finish one side. There's certain patterns you have to follow to complete it.

Speaker 5:

It's not just oh, I'm guessing.

Speaker 2:

It's not going to work. You have to follow the certain patterns.

Speaker 5:

Another fun fact if you throw a Rubik's Cube, it flies really far. Oh my gosh.

Speaker 1:

I heard hey, that's breaking news.

Speaker 6:

That is.

Speaker 3:

I like it. It's catching on, ain't it?

Speaker 2:

It's catching on Don't touch me. This is what she does like.

Speaker 5:

I have an idea at the house and she's like oh yeah, your idea, let's not do that, here's a better one, here's a better one. Let's take your idea, trash that, yes, and do what I want.

Speaker 1:

Oh babe, that is so good to not do. Let's do what I want to do.

Speaker 6:

That's going to happen.

Speaker 2:

She looks at you, bless your heart, you're actually trying to do things.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, it's okay, I still love you.

Speaker 3:

I know.

Speaker 1:

In our household, we've had our 19 year anniversary.

Speaker 5:

We went out to eat last night. Stop doing that.

Speaker 1:

Finger snaps there you go, that's Finger snaps there you go, that's better, there you go. There you go.

Speaker 5:

That was awesome.

Speaker 1:

Just kind of reminiscing we hung out last night.

Speaker 6:

What was it called Skinny J's.

Speaker 1:

Skinny J's.

Speaker 6:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

It was really good. Good burgers.

Speaker 5:

Of course that's what you got.

Speaker 1:

That's what I got. What'd you get?

Speaker 6:

Chicken melt.

Speaker 5:

That's right, you know it's pretty amazing when you go to a restaurant, they serve other stuff besides burgers.

Speaker 1:

It's unbelievable, I don't believe that it's true I don't believe that that is insane no, I just got stick every, every time I go away from my usual. I'm mad I didn't go with my usual you know why?

Speaker 5:

because you can't order that's true too.

Speaker 2:

I'll start sitting down sweating a burger go to me, go to a new place, not let them have a menu, be like they don't have burgers yep, they have burgers, our last anniversary we went to that really fancy restaurant oh, I was so mad he said I've seen a picture of a burger on the reviews.

Speaker 1:

I don't got burgers like no, no, so we got a charcuterie board.

Speaker 6:

Yeah yeah, I guess that's of like random, like finger foods.

Speaker 1:

It was like 70 dollars for like cheese and grapes and like pieces of sausage and crackers.

Speaker 2:

That's appetizer, that's not a meal you paid 70 bucks for that just that, okay.

Speaker 1:

So then I'm like horrible investment. Yeah, it was bad and I'm like, well, clearly I can't just eat this, and they don't have any burgers, so I don't know what to do.

Speaker 4:

Chicken strips so I'm like you're freaking out at this point, so all I've seen was baked potato.

Speaker 1:

So I'm like, okay, I'll get a baked potato too. 30, and it was a baked sweet potato and it was 12 for just a baked sweet potato.

Speaker 2:

There's really not a huge difference between that's not true well, I'm talking like nutrition, oh okay, oh yeah, not a big difference between which I like sweet potatoes.

Speaker 1:

But I was just. I don't want to pay 13 for one.

Speaker 5:

Yeah for a so I left.

Speaker 1:

I left that place very unhappy you sound like you're still very, very unhappy did you give a google review no, no, I didn't but he did a yelp one.

Speaker 4:

It was a good there you go?

Speaker 5:

no, yahoo, it was terrible. We made Jennifer look stupid in Walmart.

Speaker 3:

Yes, I was just fixing to say that. Yep, okay, I was walking through Walmart yesterday and I was listening to the podcast.

Speaker 5:

Telling which episode.

Speaker 3:

About your check episode.

Speaker 5:

And I was laughing.

Speaker 3:

Walking around Walmart. So people were looking at me and I was laughing. Walking around Walmart buying my clothes.

Speaker 2:

So people were looking at me and they said he's nuts. That's why you got to stop and be like no, no, no, listen to this. That is so awesome, not a shameless plug.

Speaker 5:

just listen to how dumb this is yeah, it was good.

Speaker 1:

I knew I shouldn't have shared that you should have. We're glad you did.

Speaker 5:

Oh, that's in the greatest hits is where that is.

Speaker 1:

It was pretty bad.

Speaker 5:

That's what was going on in our household this week.

Speaker 1:

How about the Wilkerson's? What's going on in y'all's life, uh-oh.

Speaker 3:

Uh-oh.

Speaker 2:

You want me to say it.

Speaker 1:

I don't know why you're being quiet I'm always quiet, so do you want me to lead the way on how y'all got us to your house? Yeah, sure, so we all get a text and it's like, hey, we, we get, we need a family meeting tonight, we need everybody to meet at our house.

Speaker 3:

And it's like, oh, okay, and then everybody's like okay, yeah, it's like everybody's like okay, cool, yeah, we could be there, we could be there.

Speaker 1:

And it's like so now we all start calling each other, right, and we're all like okay, have you heard?

Speaker 2:

yeah, have you heard anything? Have you heard anything?

Speaker 1:

and I'm like it's either really good or really bad. I was like I don't know if they're trying to trick us or if it really is pretty bad, and they just need to meet with everybody. So you kind of go in and it's like man, I don't know, what do you think?

Speaker 4:

well, and there has been a lot of negative stuff happening yes, so it's like one thing after another like oh man, here we go. I was surprised nobody called me. I was like, okay, cool, that's fine well and yeah, as soon as, like he sent, I think it was taught. Yeah, tyler sent the text out. Mikey calls. He's like hey, what's?

Speaker 1:

up. Yeah, yep tyler's like act all sad I know, yes, mysterious, he was selling it. I'm like is everything okay? And he's like well, he's like we just need to talk to y'all. And I'm just like, okay, like so, it's like something serious that he can't even talk about before that.

Speaker 5:

So I'm like, hmm the FBI has bugged his phone. Yeah.

Speaker 3:

I told.

Speaker 5:

Liv.

Speaker 2:

I told Liv I was like you've got to lie your butt off if you talk to anyone and I'm terrible at lying. I was telling her because me and Richard had that work meeting before meeting with y'all.

Speaker 6:

I forgot about that too. I was in a bad mood. Yeah, that helped me sell it. I told Liv I was in a bad mood.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah, yeah. That helped me sell it. I told them I was like, don't you, I wouldn't just say anything if they're sitting there waiting. I had to keep my mouth shut.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and then she kept leaving.

Speaker 2:

Like she kept leaving the room.

Speaker 4:

She's like hold up, let me go. I got to go.

Speaker 1:

I was going to be like gotta run in here real quick and it's just like interesting. Yeah, it was cool, though everybody dropped what they were doing and showed up that's what you do for family that's right, we had, bunny, I think you were at work, right or something.

Speaker 1:

You had a meeting. So you faced, I mean it's just that's awesome that we all kind of like, okay, cool, let's figure this out. Yep, and it was. Uh, it was nerve-wracking, because then Tyler gets home and he's screaming about work, and then I wasn't screaming, I was hollering. There's a difference and then he came in and then y'all two were like standing there and we're all just like just like right now we're just still looking at him, still anticipation, just like what is happening right now? Tell us what is happening right now.

Speaker 5:

Tell us what is happening right now.

Speaker 6:

Yeah, tell the listeners.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, me too.

Speaker 4:

Breaking news. I'm looking at you. Okay, go ahead.

Speaker 2:

Okay. Well, me and Liv found out that we are pregnant. Woo With emotion, with emotion me and Liv found out that we are pregnant with emotion with emotion it would be so funny if you accidentally press the womp womp after how long have y'all actively been trying?

Speaker 1:

three and a half years that's a.

Speaker 4:

I have an exact number okay oh, of course sorry come on with the number three years and three months that is awesome after sorry three years and a quarter yeah right, not a half you're so off three and a half of a half matters. It matters.

Speaker 1:

Man and after all that Because that's what we all have talked about with each other is like praying for y'all and being there with y'all. It's like if anybody deserves to have a baby, it's y'all. It's like man. Such an amazing couple and you see people out that want to give their kids up and don't want anything to do with them. It's like man. We really hope that they could have that after trying for so long.

Speaker 3:

So that we can babysit.

Speaker 1:

That's also how far exactly are you right now.

Speaker 4:

I am nine weeks today.

Speaker 1:

Oh, that's so awesome Rock and roll.

Speaker 4:

They're the size of a mini pancake.

Speaker 2:

A little mini pancake.

Speaker 6:

A little pancake it tells you every week how big it gets.

Speaker 2:

Right now what was the? A little pancake. It tells you every week how big it gets. Okay, so right now, what was the one where you told me because it was like a dessert or a vegetable or something and you told me two things, and those are completely different sizes. What was it? It was like two weeks ago. He just made it up I tell you probably, yeah, was it like a? Um, I can't, I really can't. But she told me I was like live isn't one like a bean or something why are you asking?

Speaker 5:

why are you looking at me?

Speaker 1:

I don't know, you've got 14 kids.

Speaker 5:

That doesn't make me an ob-gyn doctor. I'm pretty close. Well, I mean I could deliver a pretty close.

Speaker 6:

I think at 17 I'm a midwife on the side card.

Speaker 2:

I've got the skills that's right I can't remember what it was, but she, she told me hey good story, tyler. Yeah, you're welcome and I was like that's that's how.

Speaker 1:

This is how tyler's stories go.

Speaker 4:

Yes, it is you were confused, so it was like hot chocolate packet marshmallow.

Speaker 1:

It was what. Say it again.

Speaker 4:

The hot chocolate packets.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, those mini little marshmallows in there, I was talking about those.

Speaker 4:

He thought I was talking about the big marshmallows. No, no, no, not the big.

Speaker 2:

No, she's like the tiny, tiny, tiny marshmallows. I was thinking of the small penny-sized one. And then so well, I've never used those packets, so I didn't know. And so I'm thinking and then what was the other one? It was a sesame seed. A sesame seed. I was like Liv, you can fit 200 sesame seeds in one of those marshmallows. What is happening? What kind of science is this?

Speaker 1:

It's just so exciting it is like, and when y'all finally told us we were all jumping around. It's like jamie pushed zaley on the ground. How are you gonna push our baby down? The fact of an announcement of another baby they didn't even know what was going on.

Speaker 2:

It's so funny because you could see Zaley's face just.

Speaker 5:

And she only had two stitches. She's fine. Yeah, that limp went away.

Speaker 1:

So when do y'all find out what boy or girl?

Speaker 4:

we can find out tuesday dang, that's quick.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, well, they can actually tell you through a blood test. That's crazy. So y'all are doing a gender reveal party, right?

Speaker 4:

we're gonna do something. I know that we're gonna find out together. Just us first yeah, yeah and then I think we're going to do the like the cake thing where you cut into it.

Speaker 1:

I was about to say I have an idea. Oh we don't want that. I have an idea.

Speaker 2:

I feel like Michael at this point. When Michael says I have an idea, it's the same reaction as when I say who wants to hear a joke?

Speaker 6:

Yeah, that's true, or is it that? Oh no, I'm just. I'm based on reactions. I have an idea. Do it? Are you good, stop looking at me like that, so I can change it.

Speaker 1:

She's already got another one. So I think, get a guitar and you put the like color on the inside and then you it.

Speaker 4:

That would actually be pretty cool. He's not going to break a guitar.

Speaker 1:

You could buy an older guitar or one from Walmart for like $30.

Speaker 4:

From the mission.

Speaker 2:

Sounds like a horrible idea.

Speaker 1:

See Liv's digging it.

Speaker 2:

Should we tell them about the picture? Announcements About the idea.

Speaker 4:

It's going to be out by then.

Speaker 5:

We already know Tyler.

Speaker 2:

What do you mean? You already know.

Speaker 5:

That you're having a baby.

Speaker 1:

I think he's talking about some announcement. I know what he's talking about.

Speaker 5:

Thank you, Mike.

Speaker 2:

So what we're going to do, we're going to he was a bit aggressive.

Speaker 6:

Yeah, tyler, tell your idea, so I can change it.

Speaker 2:

Never mind, I'm just kidding. We're going to go to our church and we're going to have us sitting on the stage. We're going to be sitting on the stage, I'm whichever yeah, I don't know. We're going to be sitting on stage, I'm going to have my guitar, Liv's going to have a microphone and then in between us I'm going to find like a little tiny, little baby size guitar and maybe get like a like a floor mic and put a microphone on it and break the guitar and no.

Speaker 5:

Oh sorry, no, oh sorry.

Speaker 2:

And then like, slide the ultrasound, like in between the strings, very cool.

Speaker 3:

That's cool To announce to the church.

Speaker 2:

Okay now Jamie, what's your idea? I still think.

Speaker 6:

You should break a guitar. It's very rock and roll.

Speaker 1:

See. We can do that.

Speaker 2:

We can do that For a gender reveal See.

Speaker 3:

That's what they're.

Speaker 1:

They're still talking about.

Speaker 2:

We're not talking about the reveal.

Speaker 5:

I was talking about our announcements oh no, that's what I was talking about. I thought we were honest. I was with you, tyler have you ever seen?

Speaker 1:

have you ever seen that video of the kid? That's like I, I, I because I, I, because this is I, I you shut your mouth that is tyler and you bite your tongue off. Wow, talk about aggressive. Then I couldn't be on the podcast.

Speaker 2:

Oh no, that's why I'm power-pricing you.

Speaker 5:

You can't have. There is no podcast.

Speaker 2:

Today Junior.

Speaker 1:

That's how we feel when you're telling the story. Please just get to the point.

Speaker 5:

Y'all know that place. I was at one time.

Speaker 1:

You remember? Yeah, so the other day I was at. Where was I at? You're telling us.

Speaker 2:

We don't know where you were at it takes me a minute to collect my thoughts we want to know where you were at they're everywhere, they're random and everywhere so what do you care if it's a boardorg?

Speaker 1:

Are you leaning one way more than the other Of what you would want?

Speaker 5:

After three and a half years or, excuse me, three and a quarter years. Don't get it right.

Speaker 2:

She's about to jump across this table, my bad.

Speaker 4:

I don't care. Either way, I think it's a girl. I don't know, I just feel like it's a girl.

Speaker 5:

Fill in your bones.

Speaker 4:

I know that he wants to have a girl. He just feel like it's a girl filling your bones and then I know that he wants to have a girl yeah he's always talked about being a girl dad yeah, it's fun.

Speaker 5:

It's a lot of fun and challenging and frustrating and heartbreaking. And all the, all, the, all the best and worst.

Speaker 4:

We started way up here and ended up way down here real quick. Oh yeah, no.

Speaker 2:

No, no, never mind.

Speaker 5:

Hey, but on the bright side. Being a boy dad is also heartbreaking.

Speaker 1:

And tough yeah.

Speaker 5:

No, I just stopped right there. Oh, just heartbreaking.

Speaker 3:

That's it Okay.

Speaker 1:

And what I'm most excited about is again our family you know, our extended family of a new member coming in. You know it's just so awesome. Yeah, bunny, I know you are. You just got a new grandkid, so now you've got another baby coming into the picture. How pumped are you? I am.

Speaker 3:

I got baby stuff like all the time the baby's got to get the tattoo.

Speaker 2:

That's initiation.

Speaker 6:

That's initiation money.

Speaker 5:

I think there are laws against that.

Speaker 1:

Man and I know it was awesome. The baby stuff just makes you want one no, it doesn't, it absolutely does not. Oh maybe it's just no maybe it's just us, I don't know. I'm just saying like when tyler, we were at uh memphis and we were at the gap, he was getting the little baby outfit. I'm just like there's so much cute baby stuff, I want another one. I get that. I was just like there's so much cute baby stuff, I want another one.

Speaker 2:

I get that.

Speaker 5:

I was like, oh, he's gonna call jamie I get that way when I see baby, like the babies that were here today. Yeah, that's, but that's enough for me.

Speaker 1:

I don't want to go. Yeah, no more, I want to go have a baby I just want to hold that baby this is fun here you go yep yep so how we'll start with y'all, because y'all have this huge change that's about to happen in your life. It's already is happening, but how scared were you when you found out that news. Like you, could be prepared, but scared and how did that. Like yay, a baby, like oh, and like oh, are we ready? Oh gosh, oh no we're not ready we got to prepare.

Speaker 3:

We got to prepare. Oh, he's collecting his thoughts.

Speaker 2:

No, I thought you were going to answer first. Do you want me to? I don't care.

Speaker 4:

Not too much. Okay, our daughter is going to get it from me.

Speaker 2:

It won't be me. I was like we got to face the reality there's going to be another me running around here.

Speaker 1:

Let that sink in. Let that sink in. That's terrifying.

Speaker 2:

Let that sink in. Knock on my door. Who's there A sink? Let that sink in? That's terrifying. Let that sink in. Knock on the door. Who's there A sink? Let that sink in. Can we turn his mic off for a minute? We can Shut up. It was funny.

Speaker 4:

No so interesting fact.

Speaker 2:

I don't know what she's about to say.

Speaker 4:

I said I don't know what you're about to say. I said I don't know what you're about to say. Okay, well, you can chill out. Um, so I actually found out on saint patrick's day, the 17th yeah um, not this month, obviously. Um, because it's april, but obviously yeah, at the time of recording.

Speaker 2:

Okay, okay.

Speaker 4:

so I found out on St Patrick's Day. Found out on St Patrick's Day, and so, like I found out, that morning, tyler had already gone to work and I had to wait until he got home that afternoon and I was in St Louis all day yeah, at like 5 o'clock longest day ever I thought I was was gonna lose my mind because I was like I really want to like, call, like on it and I I have like the whole thing recorded.

Speaker 4:

It's like 20 minutes long and I'm crying like 10 minutes of that oh wait, I think I heard.

Speaker 2:

No, that's just somebody going by, okay, well I'd imagine the dogs are going or driving you nuts, because they will. They think everyone is at the door pulling into the driveway.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, and it's a leaf, yeah yeah, it's like they pull up to the stop sign and then it's like, oh, our best friends are here. What? Yeah, yeah, what like I almost didn't record it yeah. Like I was. Like you know, I've recorded so many of these and like they've all come out negative, like there's you know, it's like I was just kind of tired of it at that point.

Speaker 4:

But um which, this time it was different cause I was on medication, so so I was like I might as well go ahead and do it, not expecting anything. Like when I watched the video. It's so funny because I'm like I just rolled out of bed, I don't have pants on, I have a sweatshirt on and I haven't brushed my hair.

Speaker 1:

I look homeless.

Speaker 3:

Okay, I do.

Speaker 4:

It's bad.

Speaker 5:

Homeless chic.

Speaker 4:

Oh my gosh, it was so funny, so um and.

Speaker 5:

I yawn like 5 000 times in the video like before I even take the test.

Speaker 1:

It wasn't 5 000.

Speaker 5:

Okay, let it go um. Go ahead. I was stopping him for doing that.

Speaker 1:

No, it's just exaggerations. Drive me crazy because I try to picture the story as it's happening, like how you're 5,000 times late. That's a lot.

Speaker 4:

You just lost him.

Speaker 5:

He's over there thinking how does anybody yawn 5,000? Was she counting the 5,000?

Speaker 1:

She ran out of iPhone memory on her phone. That would be a long video, those clicker things.

Speaker 2:

She had a dry erase board just tallying.

Speaker 1:

Yawn count.

Speaker 4:

Just tally on the mirror sorry, carry on and so um no so I look crazy anyways and I'm like clearly not expecting anything at all, like I'm not, like I'm not expecting a positive yeah at all you know and I always like pictured the day that I would take a pregnancy test to be positive that I would like know that it's gonna be.

Speaker 1:

You know what I mean right, I just instinctively know yeah it's just like oh, I know how I'm gonna react no um, no, it did not happen at all how I expected.

Speaker 4:

Um, I took, uh, two tests at first. I I took one of the little strip ones. I'd never taken one before. I was like I don't know how this works.

Speaker 5:

Pee on the stick.

Speaker 4:

I took one of the little strip ones, and then I also did one of those clear blue, not where it reads the word out to you.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 5:

We were having a conversation, okay.

Speaker 4:

Where it just has the lines or whatever on it, and so, like, not even 30 seconds after dipping the first one, it was like already showing a second line, but I was like you can see me like in the video like look at it and like make a face, like hold on yeah. And I'm like wait. Hasn't even been a minute and there's already a second line there, like, sorry, I'm like wait hasn't even been a minute and there's already a second line there, like, so I'm like okay super pregnant apparently got a cape on.

Speaker 5:

I'll give you that one.

Speaker 1:

That was pretty good now I see her running around the house with a cape on yawning 5,000 times.

Speaker 3:

Her superpower is yawning.

Speaker 5:

We're not on video, Tyler.

Speaker 6:

No, I wish we were.

Speaker 2:

Just imagine it like Michael is. That's funny.

Speaker 4:

No, it was. Yeah, I was like. I was like okay, let's calm down, let's not get too excited it's like you know. I didn't know, like if you had to wait a certain amount of time, if it had to get darker, like I have no idea. So I was like, okay, I'm supposed to wait five minutes.

Speaker 1:

The other one is flipped over so I can't read it yeah, yeah, it's the one that, like, actually says it, right, no, not okay I took that one last how many did you take?

Speaker 4:

I took like four, oh wow you wanted to make real sure? Yeah, all right I was like well, there are faulty pregnancy tests out there right, maybe I got all of them.

Speaker 1:

You know every single one maybe the first three of those.

Speaker 4:

Like I just gotta make sure you know but um, no, so I like wait the five minutes or whatever. And then I flip it over and I like start freaking out, of course, like excited, and I'm crying and like of course I'm happy, and then I'm like like what am I gonna do? Yeah, like you know, like it's not. It's, it's something you think you can prepare for, but it's not at all like that like you're like um hold on this is like a reality yeah I don't know what to do you start feeling seriously inadequate.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it's like oh no, am I ready for this?

Speaker 4:

it's like I know this is what we were, you know, working towards. Yeah, it's like, oh, no, am I ready for this? And it's like I know this is what we were working towards yeah. It's like this is for real.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 4:

So and then I was like, okay, well, I need to do this other one where it actually reads it. I was like I need to see it in writing, Just in case.

Speaker 2:

I have to see this in writing, in the fine print.

Speaker 5:

You got to show me writing in the fine print like I gotta be able to read it. Yeah and yep. Well, just so you know, nothing ever goes as prepared. Yeah, you'll never be ready for it and they all change.

Speaker 1:

So you have one kid and think you're prepared for a second and then it's completely different.

Speaker 6:

yeah and oh, and you'll get the realization when they actually get here and they like like, get them all cleaned up and will them in there to you and they're just like OK, bye. You're like help, Don't leave me. What do I do?

Speaker 4:

Go with me oh my gosh. It was so funny when I record. I recorded his reaction. I tried to record everybody. This is kind of hard to, but I recorded his reaction. I tried to record everybody. It was kind of hard to, but I recorded his and at the end of the video that's literally what he says. He's like wiping his eyes from like the tears and stuff. He goes. What do we do now? Which was you have a baby?

Speaker 1:

which was awesome, like some emotion coming out of a robot right cyborg, so my eyes are leaking what is? This human emotion. There are water coming out of my eyes. Now what do we do?

Speaker 5:

baby on the way wow, that was a lot of robot noise right there. That's what he's been waiting on so he could, just so he could do that have a robot voice.

Speaker 1:

We don't have a button for that I'm just gonna mute my microphone at this point and you spelled it wrong. It's d u oh, uh-oh uh You're the one that pronounces it wrong. Take the redneck out of your voice and then we'll be able to.

Speaker 6:

It's not an E-R.

Speaker 5:

I don't know that it matters. It's okay, Mike.

Speaker 6:

It does. It's in the Geneva Convention.

Speaker 5:

She knows her truth.

Speaker 6:

That's right Okay.

Speaker 1:

Haters.

Speaker 4:

Hello Tyler.

Speaker 1:

When it finally sank in. What about you, oh man?

Speaker 4:

Because it hasn't for me, honestly.

Speaker 1:

Because y'all have been married. What five years It'll be yeah.

Speaker 5:

Four years. What's the exact number? I just want to know.

Speaker 2:

It is April and it'll be four years in July. July, yeah.

Speaker 1:

Cool, okay, so you're almost at four years, right, okay so?

Speaker 5:

y'all started trying, like immediately trying to have a baby Six months after we got married. Yeah, that's cool.

Speaker 1:

Because this is going to be a huge. You're adding a member to your two-member only family, Like that's going to be a big deal.

Speaker 2:

I was about to say six, right now.

Speaker 1:

I'm sorry, human family, your actual blood I birthed those dogs. That's a weird thought. I don't like that at all.

Speaker 5:

Now we definitely have to change that?

Speaker 1:

That was weird.

Speaker 3:

That made my knees feel weird.

Speaker 2:

I didn't like that at all.

Speaker 5:

He promised those dogs.

Speaker 1:

And this is what I'm excited for. No offense to the dog lovers in the room. Y'all three crazy people.

Speaker 3:

Three wait Three.

Speaker 5:

I've got proof.

Speaker 6:

I can show you she got the receipts oh for richard uh-oh, uh-oh yeah she ain't got nothing, oh, oh but it is, she knows her truth it is a.

Speaker 1:

I know that's a, that's a huge thing. Oh, my fur baby, my fur baby, awesome, great, fantastic, happy for you. Uh, it's a whole different world when you're gonna look in that baby's eyes and realize I love these dogs. But this is different. This is so much different. I am so excited for that because we see the love that y'all give our kids we've talked about this that the love that y'all give our kids, our kid, me and Jamie's kids, god's parents.

Speaker 5:

That was a big sentence.

Speaker 1:

That was a hard combination of words, our kids', god parents, there you go, it was like each word, had a period.

Speaker 5:

He was thinking it through. I'm really trying to get out of there.

Speaker 1:

And seeing the love that y'all give to them and knowing that it's going to be just amplified. Oh my gosh, it's going to be awesome it will be fantastic, and vice versa, that we get to show that same love that y'all show to our kids, to y'all's yeah, we get to spoil the child, oh, oh oh, I cannot wait, by the loudest toys oh, you want candy and McDonald's, oh here you go, absolutely Immediately. Send them back with us. It was like Zay's hopped up running around in circles. Tyler gave me chocolates His fault.

Speaker 5:

Liv said it was okay, throw you under the bus.

Speaker 6:

So I'm ready for that it is it just shows a whole other level of unconditional love? Like you would love. You will love that child, no matter if they committed manslaughter that went dark.

Speaker 1:

What in the world wow?

Speaker 2:

it's off of our unborn baby is a felon.

Speaker 6:

Oh my gosh, it's a TikTok. Oh my gosh, lord, have mercy.

Speaker 1:

Well, and speaking of just change, it's going to be awesome for post-birth to see how everything has changed. And you'll be like how was life before this? You won't. You'll be like how did we, how was life before this? Like it, you know, we had, we'd had aliyah, and then it was like, okay, well, we'll try for another one after after so many years. Then we had bubby. Then we're like, man, I can't imagine life different than right now, like this is perfect, this is awesome. And then we're like, well, try another one. And we had say and it's like, okay, this is perfect, this is all, and it just it changes everything to where you're like, how did we live without them?

Speaker 5:

like this is gonna be when you have your fourth kid. I'm just curious. Impossible, oh, baby, there's adoption. Do you have something?

Speaker 6:

you got to tell me unless the lord puts it on my heart that one time you came over.

Speaker 2:

I can't remember what you're going to tell us. Both y'all were there. Yeah, jamie was just as surprised. I can't remember what you guys were coming over to tell us. He was like Jamie's pregnant. We're like what, and Jamie's like what?

Speaker 1:

I'm just kidding. I think Nope.

Speaker 5:

Michael's like kidding? I think Nope. Oh, jennifer would have another one Today if I let her Cause she is a psychopath. They may have actually done Manslaughter, they're cute and I love them, but Not when.

Speaker 6:

I'm almost 40.

Speaker 2:

I don't want to go through that again yeah, I'll tell you that that was my biggest fear is being old and having graduation where you're being, when you're 60 years old, yeah, yeah, what's that gonna be like rich?

Speaker 1:

I'll let you know in about 11 years. That's what that's what?

Speaker 5:

that's what our concern. Well, my concern because I'm 47 luke is. He just turned seven, so in 11 years I'll be however much, 47 plus 11 is 58, thank you at his graduation. And I'm like man and that's why I'm so dead set on getting in shape now is because I do not want to be that guy that can't do these things with his kids. I don't want to. I don't want to leave my kids because I have heart disease or or whatever. You know, yeah, so yeah at one.

Speaker 1:

And for y'all, what's good is y'all do have grandkids coming into the picture. So now it's kind of the fun without having to deal with the diapers and the late nights and the being up and all that. So you know you kind of get to treat. What is his name again?

Speaker 5:

Hudson Hudson.

Speaker 1:

I thought it said Jackson.

Speaker 5:

It's pretty close yeah.

Speaker 1:

Son. It's pretty close, isn't it, hudson? You know, you kind of get to treat them like that, like, oh man, we get to spoil and do all this and we get to send them back.

Speaker 3:

Papaw.

Speaker 1:

Big Rich, that's a lot. Oh, no, no.

Speaker 5:

You have to send them back.

Speaker 6:

She's always trying to kidnap kids.

Speaker 1:

Oh my gosh, I seen the picture With the glasses on.

Speaker 5:

Oh yeah, what are they called pit vipers? So cute. And that's part of the fun too is the clothes is on. Oh, yeah, it's a cute. Oh yeah, yeah, the uh. What are they called pit vipers?

Speaker 1:

yeah, so cute, yeah yeah, and that's part of the fun too, is the clothes and the dress up and the oh my gosh that's one thing I'm not worried about, because of how many people we have around us yes, we're not gonna buy a thing.

Speaker 4:

Yes, right, yeah, but you say that, but we've already bought, we had that.

Speaker 2:

Well, that was out of like excitement, not holy crap, what? What is our baby going to wear? Also to answer your question, because I didn't get a chance to answer it. If you had asked me that a year, two years ago, I'd have been freaked out, yeah, but I feel ready. That's good.

Speaker 5:

That's what I'm talking about. That'll last until about eight months.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, yeah, probably that's good. That's what I'm talking about. That'll last till about eight months.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, probably, man, and it's, and you'll learn as you go. That's the biggest thing is you learn from doing it like and you do have help.

Speaker 5:

I mean, yeah, you, you are surrounded by people that have children that can help you with all this stuff.

Speaker 2:

So yeah, yeah, I'll babysit almost any day talking about, we've got, she's got three sets of grandparents, or, yeah, got three sets of grandparents and then, you know, got my mom, my stepmom, dad, I'm like we have some babysitting the kids five, six, seven days a week.

Speaker 1:

Right, we're never gonna see the baby and well, that's something too is is having that support around you. You know, we we with jamie's parents kind of not being in the picture, so we only have a certain amount of people in our direct family that's around us. Y'all have a ton of people that are there for y'all, you know, between y'all's parents and, and all that and your friends and family, you know, and so that having that support system helps a ton of people around you.

Speaker 6:

That can really does take a village, yeah yeah, and I mean we all say it.

Speaker 1:

You know, if you see my kid acting up, smack him in the back of the head. You know, because we all look out for each other and we all look out for each other's kids.

Speaker 5:

I don't know how many times I've seen Mike sighing real deep and I'm like what? And he's like freaking Luke, I get it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I know Same same he's been doing really good is what I've heard lately.

Speaker 5:

Outside of school. Now, I'm not at school?

Speaker 1:

I don't know school.

Speaker 5:

He's getting better at school.

Speaker 1:

He's getting school. Yeah, I'm hoping he's growing out of it. She's like he's perfect when he's with me I'm like either he's learning or you're a sucker and he's got you. Oh, I tell you, I don't know.

Speaker 5:

He gave mom a wink and that's all I was gonna say, I was gonna tell that your mom jules is that's it she, he could manslaughter her what is this? Goodness, change the name again.

Speaker 2:

Yep first 48 golly, today's episode is brought to you by the letter m for manslaughter I feel so bad for y'all's kid not having to be around these people oh, y'all want to babysit, oh we're going out of town call me.

Speaker 5:

I'm there with a show and an alibi.

Speaker 2:

I love that one, though she's right here, she's right there. She has to do it with with the recording. Oh my gosh, I thought you pressed the button, even the little gap in between.

Speaker 1:

That was pretty good, yeah. So what are some of the biggest things and we'll start with the randalls that you've had to do with in change in your life, like instant change? You know, I know y'all have moved a lot maybe different schools, different job but something that you've had to face head on, a huge life changing deal like having a child.

Speaker 3:

Well, when we started fostering, that was a big change, especially the kids in, and then they leave, and then we get new kids, and then they leave, and then and then we ended up adopting, you know just automatic family already. You know over again, yeah, as we kind of explain it like starting over, because we have our adult kids and then now we have smaller kids again.

Speaker 1:

So yeah, because it started pretty soon after y'all finished class, right like y'all were getting kids oh yeah, like the next week yeah yeah, and it's like, oh how many have y'all fostered like in total?

Speaker 5:

probably that's a good question yeah probably a dozen or so, probably right. I mean, and for whatever reason, we got a reputation with child services as being willing to take the big families like the big sibling groups, so we would get three and four at a time.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so that's kind of, so I don't really know how many that is a good question we need to count that up one of these days, yeah we've had a bunch I don't.

Speaker 1:

I don't really know yeah, yeah two dang many well, like you said, you know that is, that's a huge change. And adding, adding people to your family, that they everybody gets to know them, then they're leaving, then a new group is coming in. You got to get yeah, so that's constant, constant change happening. Yeah, that's good, babe. What about you in our life, that some things that we've had to run into on on some change we've moved a couple times in the past year. That's been some big, big changing moments yeah, you just said it good talk.

Speaker 5:

19 years.

Speaker 6:

That's the only change y'all had to deal with kind of being right, being raised and brought up in the same town for so long, like she broke up with you that one time, michael.

Speaker 2:

I found a note I found a note.

Speaker 3:

Oh, that was funny. Who wrote the note? That was pretty, I wrote the note I found

Speaker 1:

a note oh, that was funny who wrote the note. That was pretty funny. I wrote the note.

Speaker 6:

I found a note that I wrote my little sister. When we were in we shared a room and I guess we had broken up or something and I wrote her a note that said I and I made a line. It was a contract. We'll ask Michael Simmons if he misses Jamie and I will give you five dollars and and the contract stated you have to tell me the absolute truth. And I made her sign it, and then I signed it and I sent it to him this week. I was like do you remember this?

Speaker 1:

yeah, that's so funny. So she paid her sister to ask me if I missed her, because we were broke up and I just asked him did you miss me? She's like so, did you like yeah, was like yeah. She's like I don't think I ever gave Jennifer that $5.

Speaker 2:

He just like Venmo or PayPal or five bucks Like hey, I forgot about this.

Speaker 1:

I sent it to her.

Speaker 6:

I was like do you remember this? She was like oh my gosh.

Speaker 2:

That's so funny.

Speaker 6:

Because, like she was best friends with Denny and Annie and so we all had to deal with them.

Speaker 5:

What grade was this? When this happened?

Speaker 1:

Probably 10th grade. Probably Y'all are in high school.

Speaker 5:

With this kind of nonsense.

Speaker 2:

It sounds like 4th grade.

Speaker 5:

That's what I was thinking it might have been 7th oh, that's not much better.

Speaker 1:

Well, I don't remember what it was. First of all, you can't talk. Y'all met online on a dating app. Okay, we don't even want to hear it I didn't y'all didn't even had to meet face to face to open up a conversation. You get to swipe left swipe, right when she did me right, right, so you can sit this one out and, richard, don't come this way you're dating back when you were in high school was a tablet that you had to take a stone and mark out and send it.

Speaker 1:

You had to send a raven up in the air.

Speaker 5:

Do you know how long it took to ask somebody? Do you like me, yes or no?

Speaker 2:

It would take a whole day.

Speaker 1:

Three winters. Waiting on this raven to come back.

Speaker 5:

My tablet kept breaking.

Speaker 1:

It was Okay so don't judge us on our journey together.

Speaker 6:

There was probably so many more notes, yeah.

Speaker 1:

Notes and phone calls yeah.

Speaker 3:

I know that's definitely.

Speaker 1:

The biggest change for us in the most recent was being disconnected from our family. That was a that was a huge blow that we knew was going to be hard, but we didn't realize how hard it was and how much we lean on everybody, how much we enjoyed, we didn't care for it either yeah, I didn't realize, y'all left.

Speaker 6:

Go ahead and just mute his turn.

Speaker 1:

Dang ty, y'all moved out what I didn't even realize it.

Speaker 1:

That's messed up, you literally drove me halfway yeah that's true, I thought, it's just a road trip well, yeah, and you and we're just kind of sitting there and it's just like we really miss everybody, like we miss doing life with there, and it's just like we really miss everybody, like we miss doing life with everybody and it. You know, of course you, you have technology, but it's just not the same being disconnected from all your loved ones and I'd go to your house like three days a week and y'all I was like, what do I do?

Speaker 2:

I was like do I sit on my own couch and watch my own TV?

Speaker 1:

This sucks man, I don't want to do this and watch my own TV. This sucks man, I don't want to do this.

Speaker 6:

We were the same way.

Speaker 1:

We were like why are we just looking at each other? What do?

Speaker 6:

we do.

Speaker 1:

And you meet new people, but it's like there's nothing like our family that we've got.

Speaker 5:

It's just like doing dishes for fun. Now it's very, very unique what we have.

Speaker 1:

And then we got back and everybody helped move. And then we're kind of sitting there. Y'all were at the house and y'all were over there and and um, who else was there? Like mom and journey, and then, and after everybody left, it was the first night. And then we're just sitting there and we're like why did we ever leave this? Like we really missed this, like it's awesome just getting to hey, what are y'all doing this week? Let's get together, let's hang out, come over to the house, to the house and get to see each other and walk through life together. So that was our biggest, toughest change.

Speaker 6:

Just the little time that we were gone, I was like all right, I'll never take this for granted again, I learned my lesson.

Speaker 5:

Write that down.

Speaker 6:

Right, I couldn't imagine being gone longer. No, yeah, that was tough. I couldn't imagine being gone longer.

Speaker 1:

No, yeah, it was tough.

Speaker 5:

And we only moved for what? Two months, three months, yeah, and it was just like no, this just ain't right. Yeah, it just was no.

Speaker 2:

We were too broke to move. We ain't going to find a house like ours for the price we got it.

Speaker 5:

Just couldn't find a house. Take all them dogs.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Well, and even now, you know, none of us are three families None of us. And you had the Feast family. None of us in our family lives in the same town, Right, but we still are close enough and make time to. You know, you got Kennett, you got Malden, you got Dexter, you got Rector, you know. So it's awesome watching our family make time for each other. Even as the changes in life happen and things go on and people move from here to there or, you know, people move jobs and their schedule changes we all still make time to say, hey, let's get together and spend some time together. So that's.

Speaker 5:

Well, and you know you talk about family showing up. Jim and Tracy, everybody helped us move there, helped us move back. Three months later we moved y'all to Alabama. You hauled all the way down there all the way back. Yeah, I mean, it's just that's.

Speaker 6:

If any of y'all are going to move, keep it within a couple hours. I ain't driving eight and a half hours, no more. He said I quit. That's a lot.

Speaker 1:

I'm done, and that's a big part of it too. As the changes go in life, the constant is our family, our family here. Tyler needed help with the flooring. We were over there helping. It's cool to be able to call on each other Scraping glue off the back of Flooring.

Speaker 5:

Because he didn't want to spend a little more on regular flooring. Listen.

Speaker 2:

A dollar a square foot, that's pretty good Beat that.

Speaker 5:

I don't know what that means. You can't find a better deal. Why are you hollering?

Speaker 1:

He's really passionate about his flooring.

Speaker 2:

I'm passionate about money, we know About saving money.

Speaker 5:

We are so very aware. Toilet seat Liz engaged in a ring, oh yeah, saving money. We are so very aware. Toilet seat.

Speaker 3:

So anyway, I heard that podcast too when I was in walmart. Are you caught?

Speaker 1:

up now.

Speaker 3:

Yes, that is awesome that you're caught up with the podcast I went back and listened to all the ones that I did not listen that's what I have not listened to. I missed when I was off friday, so I listened to the podcast like all day.

Speaker 5:

That is awesome. Where are? You at You're way too far behind.

Speaker 2:

Where are you at?

Speaker 1:

That's a good question, that's a terrible answer. I have no idea. Exactly One Yep, so you got dumb and dumber over here. Thank you, Jennifer for being a faithful listener.

Speaker 6:

I'll get there eventually.

Speaker 3:

I'm just saying, if you have not listened to the check episode, you've got to.

Speaker 5:

I'm on the podcast and I laugh. That was how many episodes.

Speaker 2:

That was what Four, five episodes.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, it's been a while man.

Speaker 1:

Was it the tipping? Yes? Tipping episode man, that was rough.

Speaker 2:

Now, every time I tip, I think about that episode yeah, yeah, I want to write more checks just because of that that's why I opted out of the checkbook.

Speaker 1:

This time I blame it on the fact that you have to pay money, but I'm like no, I don't want to google how to ride a chick so have they? Have y'all got a date yet for the baby?

Speaker 4:

like for the for around for the birthday so, like by what y'all know for sure, on tuesday they'll like calculate it, however they do that um algebra but through my something, something like that Geometry Outside the real world. Right now it says November 22nd, cool.

Speaker 1:

And Christmas baby.

Speaker 5:

That's not a Christmas baby.

Speaker 3:

What are you thinking? It's a November baby, november the 6th.

Speaker 1:

Oh, November 6th okay.

Speaker 5:

Let's not gloss over the fact that you think Christmas is in November.

Speaker 1:

That's not what I said. I said it will still be a baby on Christmas, correct?

Speaker 3:

So you'll have a Christmas baby, correct or no? That's not what you meant.

Speaker 1:

That's exactly what I meant Having a baby near.

Speaker 3:

Christmas December 14th. So that's more Christmas baby. November is more Thanksgiving baby.

Speaker 2:

It'll literally be probably the week of Thanksgiving, if not on Thanksgiving, so we'll celebrate it's birthday around Thanksgiving.

Speaker 3:

Celebrate good times coming.

Speaker 6:

Celebrate with a turkey leg and some stuffing. And a birthday cake.

Speaker 4:

And a birthday cake.

Speaker 5:

That sounds amazing.

Speaker 2:

What do you do on your birthday parties? We cut a turkey.

Speaker 5:

We manslaughter a turkey.

Speaker 4:

This podcast needs to get censored. That's complete. They're going to put E for explicit on here just because.

Speaker 5:

I'm sorry that's going to go under crime.

Speaker 2:

That reminded me of the movie Sun Law, pauly Shore.

Speaker 3:

Oh yeah, the turkey, he just had a heart attack With the jean overalls.

Speaker 5:

For the record. Jamie started it. I wish.

Speaker 1:

I would have never thought of this podcast.

Speaker 5:

Regretting all of my life's decisions right now.

Speaker 2:

Welcome to the series finale.

Speaker 3:

This is it, so we're off air. This is it, so we're off air.

Speaker 2:

We have we canceled ourselves.

Speaker 1:

Oh my gosh, that's funny.

Speaker 5:

Anything else on y'all's heart. We didn't do that. That's what's up.

Speaker 1:

Ladies and gentlemen, we are now going to move into a segment that we call what's up.

Speaker 5:

So in this segment we talk about things that we're watching, listening to that's why I'm the best co-host that's gone down Things that we're watching, listening to Maybe, a new song, new movie, new show.

Speaker 1:

That's what's up. So Rich, what you got going on this week.

Speaker 5:

So American Idol Still watching that.

Speaker 6:

Wow, that still comes on.

Speaker 2:

Right, oh, whoa, whoa, whoa that still comes on. Carrie Underwood's a judge Leave it alone.

Speaker 6:

We know you're obsessed.

Speaker 2:

No, she's not.

Speaker 3:

Brandon Lake. He's going to be on there.

Speaker 5:

Okay, calm down.

Speaker 2:

Him and Jelly Roll.

Speaker 5:

Okay so. You alright, we need video.

Speaker 4:

Just tell me where to push.

Speaker 5:

I started watching a sitcom, which I'm not usually a big sitcom guy Cause I just aren't, I'm not, I just aren't.

Speaker 1:

Are not, not it's called Shifting Gears.

Speaker 5:

It's got Tim Allen on it.

Speaker 2:

It's on Hulu.

Speaker 5:

And it is flat out hilarious every episode, and I had some episodes that I cried on man, I love sitcom.

Speaker 1:

I did not like sitcom. Do you like Family Matters and Home Alone? I did as a teenager.

Speaker 5:

I'd watch like TGI Friday, right, you know all the Full House and all that stuff.

Speaker 2:

I love, saved by the Bell.

Speaker 5:

But as an adult and it's not that I don't like them I just don't watch them. I think it's because Jennifer don't like them.

Speaker 3:

So we don't watch them together. That's why I don't get to watch cops, yeah, you don't like cops he starts

Speaker 2:

sweating. He starts sweating.

Speaker 5:

I have PTSD. I love sweating.

Speaker 1:

I don't get I love sweating. Step brother, why are you sweating? First 48 is tough for me because there's no ending. It's like, oh, they're awaiting trial, that's what I say. It's like okay. So I just watched this whole episode. For what? For nothing.

Speaker 5:

I don't know. I'm glad I'm not alone.

Speaker 1:

It's the detective, but you don't know if it was them or not. So like they have a suspect in custody but we don't know if it's them or not. It's like okay, my thing is, why do?

Speaker 2:

a documentary if you ain't got all the documentary?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, okay, sorry my bad, I'm sorry.

Speaker 5:

What do you got on? That's what's up, babe.

Speaker 1:

Something you're watching.

Speaker 3:

That's what's up, that we're going to have to find new family friends.

Speaker 1:

Dang.

Speaker 3:

Y'all got canceled. Dang dang dang.

Speaker 4:

Don't change it. Don't change it. She said uh.

Speaker 5:

I thought we were changing things.

Speaker 2:

Oh crap, Crappity, crap, crap what?

Speaker 3:

We are watching. American Idol Extracted is over. We are watching.

Speaker 1:

American Idol Extracted is over.

Speaker 4:

We got to catch up on it.

Speaker 5:

We haven't watched the last one, yet we got one more episode and it will be done.

Speaker 3:

But it is really really good, so intense.

Speaker 1:

So we started, we watched the first two because that was all that was on there and we haven't started back. So we're going to try to you remember that show, because that one kid, I couldn't wait for him

Speaker 5:

to go home.

Speaker 1:

He was yelling at his parents.

Speaker 6:

It was good.

Speaker 5:

Jacobin or Jobin or whatever his name is. I was so mad.

Speaker 4:

The one at the very beginning that went home, one of the first ones that went home.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I think he was the first one. Yeah, it was like 18-year-old kid I was like the kid, yeah he I don't know, because I never watched it.

Speaker 4:

You, have watched part of it Pay attention.

Speaker 2:

You have it on and I just happen to be sitting in the living room on my phone.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, and you've watched part of it.

Speaker 2:

Probably a total of five minutes in the last, however many weeks.

Speaker 3:

You should watch it, Tyler, because it's good.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I don't know what's up.

Speaker 1:

I don't know what's up um you have an idea for the record name. Would you like to share that?

Speaker 2:

not really okay. I'm just trying to help you along man.

Speaker 3:

Brian Lake's got a new album coming out soon.

Speaker 2:

I'm excited about that. I played one of the songs on the album at my gig last night.

Speaker 5:

It was really good. I really liked that new Corey Asbury song. That is phenomenal.

Speaker 2:

Good for nothing.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, that is so good I'll tell them.

Speaker 2:

You said that.

Speaker 5:

Thank you, your friend Corey.

Speaker 4:

They're besties now.

Speaker 5:

You can have worse friends, I guess.

Speaker 2:

Where are y'all?

Speaker 1:

at with suits, the same place we were at at your house brother man I know, I know we have to.

Speaker 2:

I know, I know we need it and it was. Yeah, I, I were fell. I wanted to cry I wanted, I wanted really that good. It was one of those. I watched it got so invested and I was like what do I do with the rest of my life?

Speaker 5:

Have you started Suits LA yet? Not yet.

Speaker 2:

I keep forgetting to, because I keep thinking it's not out, but it's out now.

Speaker 6:

Yeah, we gotta finish that, yeah we do.

Speaker 2:

Well, you're on season 2, 3?.

Speaker 5:

Episode 1.

Speaker 1:

I think we're on two no, I don't even think we're through season one. I thought you said you got to season two I don't think eight more seasons is

Speaker 5:

there nine seasons that's my question yeah I've been trying to get jennifer to watch that. One and every time I suggested she's like which?

Speaker 4:

we got 10 shows for me. He was really into it.

Speaker 2:

Well, it was just the. The first episode was just. I don't know, it's such a clever episode yeah and that's that's. That's what kind of drew me in where you know the, you know mike ross and harvey specter they're just clever the way their characters are written. It drew me in.

Speaker 1:

Cool Liv. What about you?

Speaker 4:

Get off my headphones.

Speaker 2:

That might have been Jamie, I don't know, don't be yelling at people.

Speaker 4:

Get the facts first and then yell at somebody. Calm down.

Speaker 5:

It's yours Probably a lash?

Speaker 3:

I don't know what it was.

Speaker 5:

It was mine, it was a fake lash.

Speaker 2:

Speaking of hair, I've got to like unclog our sink every week.

Speaker 4:

Every week. You were so dramatic.

Speaker 2:

I did. I did it today.

Speaker 6:

Actually what's been, what's up?

Speaker 5:

did today as a couple days ago last week I think the week before about time is all I'm saying.

Speaker 1:

So do you have a that's what's up.

Speaker 4:

Anyways, in other news, I'm just kidding.

Speaker 5:

Breaking news.

Speaker 4:

I've gotten. My 911 show is back on.

Speaker 3:

Wait, what is it? Oh?

Speaker 1:

911. Okay.

Speaker 2:

Oh, you've got another. You've got another. What's up? Talk about your new job.

Speaker 4:

I'm not there, yet Calm down.

Speaker 2:

All right I'm out, no um see you at home, okay we rode together, I don't know doesn't mean we gotta ride back to you, so do you have a?

Speaker 1:

that's what's up going on five minutes.

Speaker 5:

Do we need to be here for this conversation?

Speaker 4:

No, I got back into my 911 show and it's really intense right now. I'm caught up to the most recent episode and I had to pause it before we left earlier, so I'm only halfway through it.

Speaker 5:

So you've been thinking about that since you've been here.

Speaker 4:

And it better not be freaking true.

Speaker 1:

So is that like Firefighter?

Speaker 5:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

Isn't it like Firefighter Police and like not EMS?

Speaker 4:

No, there's mainly, just like there's not a whole lot to do with police, but it's mainly Firefighter and like Dispatch and stuff.

Speaker 5:

Tina Turner, what's her name? The one that?

Speaker 4:

played.

Speaker 5:

it's mainly Firefighter, that's the one with uh dispatch and stuff. Oh, tina Turner chick. One that played uh, what's her name? One that played Tina Turner? Angela Bassett, that's the one she's in. Oh.

Speaker 4:

Angela Bassett. Okay, I can think of Angela, but I can't think of her last name.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I'm not. I've seen just like picture of it, but I haven't seen anything about it it's really good how many seasons is there? This is two, three probably okay, so it's kind of newer, but it's it's one of those shows, dude.

Speaker 5:

I'm telling you, don't do it, because they'll do three episodes and then they'll just take like a hiatus for six months oh, that drives me nuts man the rookie, yeah which we're watching.

Speaker 2:

We're watching the rookie too. Yeah, it's like 9-1-1 has been off the air for quite a while. Yeah, it's like, oh, a new Nuts man.

Speaker 5:

The Rookie, yeah, which we're watching the Rookie 2. Yeah, 9-1-1 has been off the air for quite a while.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it's like, oh, a new season coming, 2027. It's like what is happening? It's like Stranger Things. They take two and a half year gaps in between seasons.

Speaker 2:

SWAT got canceled, did it Yep?

Speaker 1:

See, that's what maybe I was thinking. Swat Is there like a lot of shows that are kind of that same premise Okay I was like maybe it was SWAT I was thinking about and not 911.

Speaker 2:

It was. It was sad because I watched a video of like it was like it's right after they had shot their last scene and all the actors were kind of giving a speech and it was yeah, that was sad because I really liked that show. Yeah, I don't have sex.

Speaker 4:

I really like that show, yeah, it was really good.

Speaker 5:

I've watched a couple of episodes, but I've never really gotten into it.

Speaker 4:

And I did start a new job.

Speaker 1:

What.

Speaker 4:

Or a second job, not a new job.

Speaker 2:

Right, I do tell.

Speaker 4:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

Give us the deets.

Speaker 4:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

Tell us already.

Speaker 4:

Tyler shut up. Oh my gosh Are you done. Yeah, you're done now. Okay, let me just unplug this. Right now I am doing lashes part-time.

Speaker 1:

How nerve-wracking is that.

Speaker 4:

At first I was really nervous to start.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 4:

Because I was like I'm going to poke somebody in the eye Right.

Speaker 5:

Because you literally could blind somebody, right? I mean, if you mess up.

Speaker 2:

And she could commit manslaughter.

Speaker 1:

I didn't do it, tyler it, I did not do it, and it's like it's got to be so different than doing your own and doing someone.

Speaker 4:

It's like backwards. It's a hundred percent different. So like which? Like the one which, obviously like the ones I have on. They're just like the little strip ones you get at walmart yeah, like you know, so you just stick them on with glue.

Speaker 3:

Whatever?

Speaker 4:

But with these they're also stuck on with glue, but it's like a UV based. I don't know how to.

Speaker 1:

UV activated.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, UV activated type of glue, so it, like cures ten times faster than the regular kind and you put them on like one at a time and you put them on like one at a time. No, you put them on like multiple at a time.

Speaker 5:

This is why Tyler does not do it. I make like little fans with.

Speaker 2:

That's the only reason I do it.

Speaker 4:

I make like little fans with them and then I put them on. So you have to have like sturdy hands.

Speaker 5:

Steady.

Speaker 6:

I mean like Are you drinking no coffee?

Speaker 4:

Shaky Well, like hands steady I mean like can't you drink enough coffee.

Speaker 1:

Well, like whenever I do it like I don't have a very like steady hand.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, but like it's enough okay yeah, it's enough to where, like I'm not gonna like you know, just right in the eye, you know.

Speaker 5:

But dr shepherd over here the important question is does lashes by live want to sponsor the podcast? That's really. Is that the name?

Speaker 1:

of it or did you just? Oh, that's her name, is that? Oh, okay, lashes. Okay, I was like that was pretty clever.

Speaker 2:

To think he's hating over here michael's like. Is that really the like what?

Speaker 1:

no, I didn't say it like that, no I heard, I'm a follower.

Speaker 5:

I heard it.

Speaker 1:

No, I heard I was shocked if richard thought of that on his own right now.

Speaker 6:

So that was actually a good name that I didn't think would come from.

Speaker 1:

He's shocked at your creativity.

Speaker 2:

So he's burning either Liv or Richard, no neither, because he didn't think of it.

Speaker 1:

I'm sorry I spoke.

Speaker 2:

I made her logo.

Speaker 5:

You don't help the podcast by listening, so if you want, we'll get there.

Speaker 2:

I can't afford that right now Lashes by listening. So if you want, We'll get there. Me and Liv will get there. I can't afford that right now. Lashes by Liv is sponsored by the Almost Brothers Podcast.

Speaker 1:

But you know what is free Listening?

Speaker 5:

That is free of charge, cha-ching.

Speaker 2:

I guess not cha-ching, because it's free.

Speaker 1:

Okay. Well, James, what about you? What do you got going on Charge?

Speaker 6:

it.

Speaker 5:

You told me some exciting news earlier.

Speaker 6:

Yeah, I did. I've been walking 10K steps every day.

Speaker 3:

Oh gosh, and I'm already down five pounds.

Speaker 6:

So, that's exciting Trying to get the healthiest I've ever been before I turned 40.

Speaker 1:

That was her words, very cool.

Speaker 5:

I like it, I like it, I am down with that plan.

Speaker 1:

She's got the watch and it alerts me, like in the middle of the day, like I'm at the desk, it's like ding, jamie has got her 10,000 step goal and I'm just like I'm a lazy piece of crap. I've only got 38, I'm not doing well.

Speaker 2:

I start looking at my rings.

Speaker 3:

I'm like.

Speaker 5:

I'm not even halfway done with mine yeah, you got like a treadmill at work? Yeah, a walking pad Like under your desk or whatever, yeah.

Speaker 3:

That helps, so I can walk.

Speaker 6:

Yeah, and work, which it's time consuming, because just getting 10K steps equals five miles, wow. So that is I get a 15 minute, two 15 minute breaks and then a 30 minute lunch.

Speaker 5:

So I try to space it out in between them so I'm not taking an hour and a half so you're not like doing it while you work, you, you do it like during breaks yeah, I try to, just so I'm not so focused on working yeah, yeah, your boss wouldn't want you to focus on work yeah I started thinking.

Speaker 2:

I started thinking I can do it at the same time, but I started thinking like no, she's like got on her desk and walking. I'm just imagining her sitting at her desk jamie has got 400 000 steps.

Speaker 1:

Something is off. Wait a second not even sweating cheating, cheating the system that's good we started One Tree Hill with mom have you ever seen One Tree Hill? I have heard it was pretty good, great show of all time. I'll die on that hill. I will die on that hill.

Speaker 5:

You're going to die on that hill. I'm going to manslaughter you on that hill.

Speaker 1:

So Jay has never seen it. So we started over with him. So we're on season one.

Speaker 6:

Which it's like he'll catch an episode and then they have to leave.

Speaker 1:

It's going to take a while he's not like let's binge it. Well, every time, every time we go to watch, it's something like we had a storm that popped up so they ended up having to leave. We had one where they had journey in haven so they had to leave and get them home. So stuff has popped up. But uh, we got that. We just uh, I told everybody you know we have a record player that we got for the house. We've been using that a lot.

Speaker 2:

We just got jimmy world on record on vinyl coming in, that's right so we exactly how it goes.

Speaker 1:

We've been we've been trying to, at least once a week, sit down just listen to some music and and just talk a little bit.

Speaker 5:

So I was looking at uh albums at walmart the other day, thinking about you. They had like Iron Maiden.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I almost got.

Speaker 5:

They had your favorite band, ACDC.

Speaker 1:

Oh gosh, they had CCR that I was going to get I saw that I almost got it.

Speaker 5:

That'd be a good one to have, but they're not cheap, man. They're not, they're $40, $50.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, depending on where you get. Now about 30 is kind of the average out depending on and some of them you just can't find one yeah, next time.

Speaker 5:

Next time I'm at a flea market, I'll see if I can find you like some hank williams and some uh willie nelson

Speaker 1:

I don't know about that. I don't know about that. Um okay, update on the nintendo switch. I know y'all were super excited.

Speaker 2:

Yes, yes, where's the power button? Nope, back up.

Speaker 3:

I heard Steve's podcast the other day too.

Speaker 1:

Why do you say it like that? She was all caught up, boo.

Speaker 6:

We know there's a new Mario.

Speaker 1:

Kart coming out. So there is, and y'all are all going to be excited, we get to sit down and play it. Okay, excited, we get to sit down and play it, okay, first of all. Second of all, I am so excited they announced the pre-order date finally in the us, which is when 2032, upcoming thursday already this upcoming thursday pre-orders go up and june 5th they come out.

Speaker 1:

So I am excited to go get in line and get my pre-order in, so pumped, even though I'm so disappointed in Nintendo. That's a whole other episode, but I got that going on and also. I got my tickets ahead of time for Star Wars Episode 3 in theaters dude we are.

Speaker 2:

Can you feel our excitement? You know I can hear that, right?

Speaker 3:

I asked myself that Feel our excitement.

Speaker 1:

Why? You know, I can hear that right.

Speaker 5:

I ask myself that literally every time we talk about Star Wars, but I do have a very vivid understanding of why he was single most of his life.

Speaker 6:

He was with me most of his life. We understand those one or two times.

Speaker 2:

We understand that's messed up.

Speaker 6:

We'll not be going to the movies with him.

Speaker 1:

Hey, when they want to hate on you for loving the things you love, let them.

Speaker 6:

Let them, that's alright.

Speaker 1:

So I'm excited for those two things and they both happen on the same day, on Thursday, so I will be going to get my preorder in.

Speaker 5:

It'll be a good day, won't it?

Speaker 1:

Oh, it's going to be the best. Get my preorder in. Go watch episode three in theaters.

Speaker 3:

I'll be working.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, I'm preaching on May the 4th.

Speaker 1:

May the 4th, that's Star Wars.

Speaker 5:

I'm not going to talk about it.

Speaker 2:

I have a feeling he's going to throw it in there.

Speaker 5:

You have to.

Speaker 2:

You don't have to.

Speaker 5:

You got to.

Speaker 2:

It's not a law.

Speaker 3:

Or anything, it's in the Geneva.

Speaker 5:

Convention. It is One of these days we're going to have to read that Just to see what's actually in the Geneva Convention. We use that wrong all the time also there's a new.

Speaker 1:

There's a new fantastic four movie coming out. They just released a trailer and it looks terrible I looked up today chronological order for marvel movies. Yeah, there are 37 marvel movies total yeah, I was really surprised do you know what the movie was? The make or break point for Marvel? They would have stopped doing movies if this movie wasn't a success. Can you guess at what movie it was?

Speaker 3:

Avengers no, number one, she doesn't even Number one.

Speaker 1:

It's actually shocking.

Speaker 3:

Lay it on us.

Speaker 1:

Blade.

Speaker 5:

Really.

Speaker 1:

He's not even in that mc universe. He is.

Speaker 5:

Well, you just haven't seen the I mean as far as like the ones that are ranked on the avengers list or whatever he is yeah okay, the list I looked at today was deadpool on it yes, he was then he is in it.

Speaker 1:

He was literally in deadpool.

Speaker 5:

Spoiler alert I haven't seen that. It was number 34, yeah yeah, so he.

Speaker 1:

He did a surprise cameo. Is he recording? I don't know, the geneva convention, oh, gosh.

Speaker 2:

the geneva conventions extensively define the basic rights of wartime prisoners, civilians, civilians and military personnel, establish protections for the wounded and sick, and provide protections for the civilians in and around a war zone.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, we missed that all. We were way off.

Speaker 6:

I'm still saying it.

Speaker 1:
